In the unending saga that is Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's divorce (which if he'd just done what she asked when she filed for divorce i.e. get it over with, we wouldn't be discussing whether or not he "allegedly" threw a phone at her face and the like), Amber was recently deposed, in preparation for the upcoming trial next week, in which she will have to defend her claims of abuse.
TMZ, those bottom feeders, say that she was asked not only about abuse she "claimed" happened shortly before she filed for divorce (two days), but incidents of abuse beforehand, and what witnesses did (or what they say they didn't) see, in regards to abuse.
All I'm gonna say is this--people keep expecting victims of domestic violence to be perfect, submissive angels, who just take it and take it, and then leave and never ever do anything that could misconstrue their mindset--such as going out and getting drunk, going out on a date, having sex with someone, etc..... And they're not.
There is no such thing as a perfect victim.
I don't care if Amber only married him for his money and fame (which, he was hot as hell when they got together, and I can't even talk because I'd marry Liam Neeson RIGHT NOW, in a heartbeat if he even looked at me out of the corner of his eye).......that does not mean that she deserves to be abused. Period.
Just because he did not hit his previous wives or girlfriends i.e. Winona Ryder or Vanessa Paradis, does not mean he DIDN'T hit/abuse Amber. Period.
All it takes is ONE TIME.
One time to make it abuse. That's the thing--when a man or a woman is hit by their partner....it's brushed off as "one time". One time they lost control. Well that loss of control, with abuse (and rape, etc) needs to be accounted for. Maybe then we'll start raising men (and women) who keep their hands to themselves, stay away from behaviors the encourage them to lose control (as in if they are aware that they get angrier/aggressive while drunk, then they should stop drinking, period), and stop treating victims as liars and opportunists.
And let's be real--this only hurts Amber. The worst it's going to be for Johnny is that he has to go away for a year or two, go dry himself out at some fancy rehab, get a job or two in a really good quirky indie film (like he used to all the time), and cut his hair and lay off the scarves and accessories. Once he "regains his hotness" all of his fans will screech about how hot he is, and all will be forgiven.
Amber? She is pretty much d-o-n-e. Believe that. Unless someone makes a point of giving her a role because of it.......but I see Johnny as petty enough to try and block her, because that's his MO. He did the same thing with Vanessa--when they broke up, he went to Us Weekly and they wrote a bunch of crap about how the breakup was her fault because she worked too much or some BS.
Anyway--I hope that video that TMZ has NEVER goes away. Which, the internet is forever. Good luck getting it off--I saw the sex tape that Colin Farrell tried scrubbing off the internet. It didn't go away, thank you Jesus.
