So back in late May Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell split. They'd been married for a little under two years, and had a baby boy together. It was already known that Evan is bisexual, so I heard a ton of rumors that Evan wanted to get a little strange from the ladies, instead of from her husband.
I find those rumors to be ridiculous, to be honest. If Evan hadn't said anything about being bisexual, then people would've claimed that they were too young, it was too stressful with a baby, and so on--anything else that anyone can think of that a young couple goes together that would break them up......instead of just breaking up, Evan and Jamie had to get a divorce. Especially since there were no substantiated cheating rumors about either of them.
But because Evan identifies as being bisexual--then she must obviously want to sleep with women. Because bisexual people can't be monogamous. At all. And that's why she left her husband. Because obviously her and her husband didn't decide that they were better off as friends (or maybe friends with benefits?). Or decide that they were not a couple in it for the long haul, and did not work well together, no matter how much they loved each other. Or decide that they really, really, really did not love each other the way a woman loves her husband, and a man loves his wife--and decide to separate.
But of course.
I don't see Jamie throwing any twitter shade on the mother of his child.
But then Us Weekly throws a wrench in those thoughts.
Evan is currently dating Katherine Moennig (Ray Donovan), as they were seen together on the 13th, at a Gala in Los Angelas, looking very couple-y. According to Us, Evan and Katherine started together after a 'couple of flirty tweets', back in February 2014--three months before Evan and Jamie separated.
Here are the tweets:
Just saw @katemoennig at a flea market. I turned to mush and ran. Love her!!
Now, God forbid I police a grown woman's tweets, but that last one made me cringe. Especially the last sentence. To me, that shows that her mind was on the dirty. Because I saw nothing in those tweets but someone who maybe had a crush on another someone (which wouldn't have even gone noticed or commented on negatively if those someone's weren't both women--especially in Hollywood), up until that last sentence.
I mean, maybe Evan was just playfully flirting--some people are like that. They flirt with everyone. But I find it just so....odd to do it on twitter like that. Because now that they're actually dating--people are going to point to those tweets and say that Evan left her husband to dip in the lady pond--and was probably doing so before they separated. Which I'm not sure is or isn't true anymore. At the very least, I think there was an emotional enchantment--which, I'm guessing that Evan shared with Jamie, and they talked about it, before deciding to separate. I think that's good.
But no matter what happened, I'm glad that Evan waited a few months (nearly five months) to be seen with her new honey. I think that's very respectful of her ex, and it shows maturity to me. To wait and see if you're compatible past the new rush of hormones. Kind of reminds me of Brangelina.

Portia recently went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (to promote her guest role on Scandal?), and talked about the Ellen-And-Portia-Sitting-In-A-Tree-Making-A-B-A-B-Y rumors. About how they won't go away. She says,
"It's just one big rumor that doesn't seem to go away. And at this point, I feel like I'm disappointing the whole of America -- not just my mother."
I didn't know that was a 'thing' with them--the rumors I hear about Ellen and Portia are about how Ellen's really controlling, and Portia's still anorexic/has an eating disorder. I guess I didn't know because Ellen is 56, and Portia is 41--neither of them have kids. Neither of them, in their younger years (as far as I'm aware) was known for talking about wanting kids to the press. And if they wanted kids, they'd have them. One way or another.
And since neither of them have made any grandoise statements about wanting to make babies over the years, I'm not eyerolling her statement at all. I kind of eyerolled at the disappointing America bit, but meh. Ellen's show is huge.
I see where she's coming from. I just didn't think there were that many people who wanted them to have kids. I mean, I like kids, so it's nice to see a couple make babies, but I'd never say to someone that you need to make babies (unless it was a joke about how devastatingly good looking their children would be or how...mischievous they would be), or give them that feeling.
But I'm also thinking that it's people who want to see them make a statement. Because I remember back when Ellen and Portia got married--right when gay marriage had first been legalized, and then shortly after it was struck down. I saw their wedding pictures (loved Portia's dress)--how sweet they were together. How in love they looked. They were/are the face for the happy, gay marriage. And what marriage isn't complete (for a LOT of people) without babies.
So they can then be the face for the happy, gay marriage, AND the happy, gay parents. They'd be huge, in terms of a brand. I can't really think of any high profile gay couple that are married, let alone have kids.
Also--whoever did Portia's hair for Scandal needs to be taken aside. Maybe it was supposed to work for her character, but she looked mean and old. Uncompromising. That hairstyle was downright tragic (in my Mr. Omar voice). Tragic, tragic!
